Spa Treatment eX Loose Spicule introduces a different approach to microspicule skincare. Instead of conventional sponge-derived spicules, the Japanese formula uses microcrystals made entirely from low-molecular-weight hydrolysed hyaluronic acid.

Using a specialised manufacturing process, the hyaluronic acid is formed into two polyhedral shapes: pyramid-shaped and sharp spear-shaped microcrystals, with an average size of 250 μm. These compact crystals are designed to create microscopic unevenness on the skin’s surface, remain within the stratum corneum and then dissolve, helping deliver hydrolysed hyaluronic acid where the skin needs moisture.

Because the microcrystals dissolve immediately upon contact with water, they are protected inside a water-free oil-gel base until application. After the product is tapped onto dry skin, Spa Treatment eX Insert Lotion provides the water-rich phase required to help dissolve the crystals and complete the two-step treatment.

The oil-gel base is more than a carrier. Squalane, jojoba, baobab and evening primrose oils help soften the skin and reduce moisture loss. Four types of ceramides support the skin’s lipid barrier, helping maintain hydration, comfort and suppleness.

With continued care, the treatment helps dehydrated or less elastic skin appear smoother, fuller and firmer. The practical click-pen packaging allows the required amount to be dispensed hygienically and applied precisely to the face, neck or individual areas requiring more intensive care.

Spa Treatment eX Loose Spicule and eX Insert Lotion are sold separately because the products may be used up at different rates. However, they are designed to work as a two-step system, and the official Spa Treatment routine requires Insert Lotion after every application of Loose Spicule.

Spa Treatment eX Loose Spicule is intended for skin that lacks moisture, firmness, elasticity or smoothness. It is particularly suitable when the complexion appears tired, rough or less plump and requires more intensive hydrating and conditioning care.

The treatment can be applied to the entire face and neck or concentrated on individual areas where loss of firmness and fine dehydration lines are more noticeable.

  The microcrystals dissolve upon contact with water. After Loose Spicule is applied to dry skin, the water-rich eX Insert Lotion helps dissolve them and completes the delivery of hydrolysed hyaluronic acid within the stratum corneum.

  The microcrystals are enclosed in a water-free plant-based oil gel to protect them from dissolving before application. This base also helps the product spread comfortably and remain on the skin.

  Tocopheryl acetate provides antioxidant and conditioning care, while stearyl glycyrrhetinate helps maintain skin comfort during the treatment.
  

How to Use

Step 1. Cleanse the face thoroughly and apply your usual toner or lotion.

Step 2. Allow the toner to absorb completely. Before applying Loose Spicule, make sure no moisture remains on the surface of the skin. The microcrystals are water-soluble and should not come into contact with water prematurely.

Step 3. Press the back of the pen to dispense an appropriate amount. When opening a new product, several presses may be required before the oil gel appears at the tip.

Step 4. Apply the product to the desired areas of the face or neck. Spread it with gentle tapping movements without rubbing the skin aggressively.

Step 5. Dispense 2–3 pumps of Spa Treatment eX Insert Lotion, sold separately, into clean palms.

Step 6. Apply Insert Lotion over the treated areas and press it gently into the skin. Its water-rich formula helps dissolve the hydrolysed hyaluronic acid microcrystals and completes the two-step treatment.

Step 7. Finish with a moisturising cream.
The complete application sequence is:

Cleanse → Toner or Lotion → Allow Skin to Dry → eX Loose Spicule → eX Insert Lotion → Moisturising Cream

Do not replace eX Insert Lotion with an arbitrary toner or serum. Other water-based products may begin dissolving the microcrystals, but they have not been specifically developed or verified by the manufacturer as part of this delivery system.
